As a sole trader, trading under the business name Career Clarity, I am committed to protecting your privacy. Your privacy is very important to me and I respect your concerns about maintaining it. This policy tells you how and why I use your information.
NOTE – I WILL NOT SELL, RENT, LOAN OR TRADE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH OTHERS. IN ADDITION, PERSONAL INFORMATION WILL NOT BE SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT, UNLESS REQUIRED BY LAW.

Data Protection – Background

The Data Protection Act 1988 has been replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The legislation gives you the right of access to information held about you and, where appropriate, to have it corrected or deleted. Please email me at careerclarityuk@gmail.com if this is the case and I will reply within a month.

What data do I collect?

  1. Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number). This is collected if you contact me via the contact form on the website or if you contact me directly, via email or telephone or Linked In. This information will be used solely to fulfil your enquiry and submission of it is entirely voluntary.
  2. Further data such as home address and personal information relevant to the work we complete together (e.g. a CV). This is only requested after you have entered into a formal agreement to work with me.
  3. Information about how you use the website via cookies. A cookie is a very small text file that is placed on our hard drive. It is an individual label, which identifies you as a visitor – it cannot deliver viruses. I have a dedicated Cookie Policy.
  4. Notes taken during a personal or group guidance session.

How do I use your data?

  1. To respond to queries about the career education, advice and guidance services I provide
  2. To provide career guidance services as outlined on my website
  3. To create a Guidance Notes and a Career Action Plan, based on notes taken in a session along with links and other information to follow up
  4. To track your progress during our working relationship, answer queries and send you relevant information

How do I store your data?

  1. Personal information (including contact details, CVs, guidance notes and action plans) will be stored on a password protected device or in a locked cabinet at the address below and retained for up to 18 months, in case you wish to use my services again. If you wish to have this information deleted, you can email at any point on the address above.
  2. Guidance notes and other personal information will only be shared with you using encrypted email.
  3. Guidance notes for young people seen at client schools will be shared with the student or school using encrypted email (or other secure method previously agreed). No personal data will be kept by me unless express permission has been sought in order to keep notes for a possible follow up session, referral or other signposting. In such cases notes will be stored securely on a password protected device, encrypted memory stick or locked cabinet for a period up to 6 months. Students and the school can write to me at any time if they require this data to be deleted.
