I found the career session with Liz very useful and insightful. As a graduate, I was not sure what career area I wanted to go into. At the start of the session, Liz showed me some photos and asked me to choose which one reflected how I was currently feeling.She then asked me to talk about my career interests and my background. She helped me to reflect on different areas I enjoyed and did not enjoy, using activities to help. We also discussed my strengths and weaknesses.
After the session, I had a clearer idea of which career direction I wanted to go into.
Liz was very empathic and good at listening to me but prompting me to think about what I wanted out of a career.
When I went to see Liz I was uncertain about the type of work I should seek and what would be available to someone who had taken a long career break bringing up children. I therefore was grateful to discuss and highlight my strengths and work out what I really was looking for.
Liz was extremely helpful and identified my motivation for going back to work. We had a few sessions and I realised that I wanted to work with people in a sociable environment on a part time basis. I found work in a café that worked out well with family life.
Liz conducted a detailed analysis and professionally guided me through the process of finding useful websites and training that could help me, I would recommend her services.
Prior to my careers meeting with Liz, midway through my A levels, I was increasingly unsure and nervous of the prospect of having little or no idea of the direction I wanted to pursue. Liz was very understanding and focused in her analysis of my situation, where she helped me to reconcile my thoughts and lay out all my options, allowing me to make an informed, sensible decision that would continue to broaden my options until I was certain of the path I wanted to take.
I decided to do a year’s Foundation Diploma in art and design, this enabled me to discover my absolute passion and apply for a degree in Fashion Contour Design at De Montfort University.
I am now in my third year doing my placement year at Aura a lingerie supplier. Looking back, Liz was an important stepping stone that brought me to where I am today within my studies, her clear, considered help was just what I needed at the time and something I will be forever grateful for.

Liz has delivered Careers Guidance Interviews to our Year 11 and Year 12 cohorts for the past couple of years.
